'Questa è colei, che con humil preghiere

Alzò la mente a le celesti Spere

Pregando Iddio co mente casta e´ pura:

Onde ei tal li diè aiuto, e tal sapere,

Che tornò illesa all´ habitate mura,

E portò seco (o meraviglie eterne)

L´horrido capo del fiero Holoferne '.
